Return to control of the Ukrainian Armed Forces “Boiko towers” will make it possible to bring Ukraine's energy independence closer and to discover the deposits of the Black Sea shelf a year and a half earlier.
The Chairman of the Board of the Oil and Gas Association of Ukraine Andrey Zakrevsky spoke about this on the air of the Unified News telethon.
He explained, that the value of gas and oil production platforms, the so-called Boyko derricks, lies in the fact that they can be towed and used for their intended purpose.

— If Ukraine leaves control over “Boiko's towers” — This is a saving of 1.5 years for exploration of our shelf. Even if the Russians completely removed all the equipment, it can be restored. But the tower itself needs to wait 1.5 years and then be transported halfway around the world, and this is not an easy task, — he said during a conversation with host Vadim Karpyak.
According to Zakrevsky, renting such towers costs from $200 to 500 thousand per day, the amount depends on the equipment installed on the towers.
— The rental includes not only the towers themselves, but also 9 ships and 2 helicopters must fly around them. Depending on which package you choose, rent from $200 can grow to $500 or $1 million per day. If we maintain control of the towers — this will bring our energy independence closer and open up deposits 1.5 years earlier. We will be able to increase the production that we currently have by 30%, — the expert emphasized.
We recall that during a special operation organized by the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense, Ukraine returned under control of the Boyko towers, which were occupied by Russia back in 2015.
