Netherlands diplomats April 29 resumed their work in Kyiv. Ambassador Jennes de Mol, together with the team, intends to work closely with the Ukrainian authorities.

At the same time, the consular department remains closed for the time being. This was announced by the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Netherlands, Wopke Gukstra, before the weekly meeting of the government.

It is noted that shortly before the full-scale invasion of Russia, the embassy moved to Lviv. Currently, a small part of the staff can return to the capital of Ukraine again.

The embassy is important because there is close cooperation. The Netherlands provides humanitarian and military assistance. We have joined forces with other countries that have already returned embassy staff to Kyiv. – said the Foreign Minister.

“This is never without risk, but we believe it is the right step,” Wopke Gukstra added.

At the same time, the ministry noted that the recommendation regarding trips to Ukraine is now “red”.
