Elon Musk denies conversation with Putin: media source insists that he still talked about him

by alex

Political scientist Ian Bremmer insists that Elon Musk did communicate with Vladimir Putin before the scandalous tweets about Ukraine. Earlier, the billionaire and founder of SpaceX and Tesla strongly denied this.

However, Bremmer, who previously spread the information about Musk's conversation with Putin, does not want to be considered a liar. Therefore, he insists that such a conversation really took place.

Did Musk speak with Putin: the position of the parties

Political scientist and founder of the consulting company Eurasia Group Ian Bremmer emphasized that Elon Musk himself told him about the conversation with Vladimir Putin about Ukraine. Musk allegedly also told what the red lines of the Kremlin are.

I have been writing my weekly geopolitics newsletter for 24 years. I write honestly without fear or affection, and this week's update was no different. I have long been fascinated by Musk as a unique entrepreneur who changed the world, which I have publicly stated. But he is not an expert on geopolitics,” Bremmer stressed.

Elon Musk himself hastened to justify himself and noted that the information about his conversation with the Russian dictator is not true.

“I only spoke with Putin once, and that was about 18 months ago. The topic was space,” he said.

The day before, Ian Bremmer said that the head of SpaceX and Tesla, Elon Musk, spoke with Russian dictator Vladimir Putin before disgracing himself on Twitter with his messages about Ukraine. Bremmer said he learned this from Musk himself. According to him, the businessman told him that Putin was “ready for negotiations”, but only on the condition that:

  • the aggressor country retains control over the occupied Crimea,
  • Ukraine will forever become a neutral state and “recognize” attempts to illegally annex Ukraine's Kherson, Zaporozhye, Donetsk and Luhansk regions.

Putin also allegedly told Musk that he planned to achieve the goals “regardless of all”. The Russian dictator does not rule out the possibility of a nuclear strike if Ukraine enters Crimea. Musk told him that “everything possible must be done to prevent this result.”

Pay attention!John Kirby, strategic communications coordinator at the White House National Security Council, also commented on Musk's likely conversation with Putin. He emphasized that the head of SpaceX and Tesla did not represent the United States government in these conversations.

After this alleged conversation, Musk published a scandalous tweet about Ukraine, in which he came up with a “peace formula” for Ukraine. It proposed:

  • “Hold elections in the annexed regions under the supervision of the UN. Russia should leave if it is the will of the people.”
  • “Crimea is formally part of Russia, as it has been since 1783 (before Khrushchev's mistake)”.
  • “Water supply in Crimea is secured”.
  • “Ukraine remains neutral”.

The Office of the President of Ukraine immediately reacted to the “mira formula” from Musk. The head of the Presidential Office, Andriy Yermak, called on Ukrainians to direct their energy not to this message, but to donations for the Armed Forces of Ukraine. In response to Musk's statement, Ukrainians raised $63,100 for a Ukrainian history textbook for Musk.
