Ukraine's number one tennis player Elina Svitolina has made it to the third round of Wimbledon 2025, confidently defeating neutral tennis player Alexandra Sasnovich in the second round with a score of 6:2, 6:4.

As Suspilne.Sport writes, Svitolina started the match with a confident streak – after exchanging breaks, the Ukrainian won three games in a row and confidently took the first set 6:2.

In the second set, Elina lost on her own serve, but quickly bounced back and took the lead. Sasnovich was able to restore balance at the end of the set, but in the tenth game, Svitolina realized the key break and finished the match with a 6:4 victory. The game lasted 1 hour and 17 minutes.
This victory was Svitolina's 32nd this season, and at Wimbledon she reached the third round for the third time in a row. The Ukrainian's best results at a grass major remain the semi-finals of 2019 and 2023.
In the third round of Wimbledon 2025, Elina will meet Belgian Elise Mertens, whom she has already defeated in five of their eight previous head-to-head encounters, including their last meeting at the WTA 500 tournament in Bad Homburg.
