Electronic register of military personnel Oberig: how to check your data

by alex

The Oberig registry helps automate the registration of conscripts and reservists, as well as simplify the interaction between the TCC, government agencies and employers. The data from the registry is used by the Ministry of Defense, the TCC, the State Border Service, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, border guards and other government agencies that have the authority.

ICTV Facts found out whether it is possible to check yourself in the Oberig registry.

What is the Oberig registry?

Oberig is an automated project of the Unified State Register of Conscripts, Persons liable for Military Service, and Reservists. Oberig is an electronic register of persons liable for military service, which was created to record all citizens subject to military service in Ukraine. It contains personal and service data, in particular full name, place of residence, military specialty, place of work, etc.

Its main goal is to ensure military registration of citizens.

How to check yourself in the registry

Currently, ordinary citizens do not have direct access to the Oberig database, so you will not be able to check for yourself whether you are there. But there are several ways to find out your status:

  • The most reliable option is to contact the territorial recruitment center (former military registration and enlistment office) at your place of residence or registration. There you can check your personal file: find out if you are in the database, and update the data if necessary. To do this, you need to take your passport and identification code with you.
  • Users can view basic information about themselves via the mobile application Reserve+. It is gradually being improved so that everyone can have access to their data without queues at the TCC.
  • You can submit an official request to the Ministry of Defense or the TCC, citing the law on access to public information. In the request, you must indicate your name, identification code, and explain why you are contacting. But keep in mind: most likely, the answer will be general.
  • Another option is to contact a lawyer who specializes in military law. They can formally request information on your behalf. This is convenient if you do not want to contact the TCC directly or are unsure of how to proceed.

What data will be included in the Oberig registry?

The Oberig system receives information from other electronic registers, namely:

  • personal data;
  • phone number, email;
  • information about parents;
  • marital status;
  • information about family, education, passport data, including international passports;
  • information about the place of work;
  • information about the date and purpose of travel abroad and the date of return;
  • data on the presence or absence of criminal records, data on administrative liability;
  • information on knowledge of foreign languages, advanced training;
  • information on the grounds for traveling abroad;
  • information on open enforcement proceedings;
  • service data: completion of military medical commission, information on participation in military operations, receipt of combat wounds, etc.

All this data will be available to the Territorial Recruitment and Social Support Centers.

Let us recall that the Law on the Unified State Register of Conscripts, Persons Liable for Military Service, and Reservists was adopted back in March 2017. It provides for the creation of a single automated system that will contain information about persons liable for military service aged 18 to 60 years.

The government believes that abandoning paper accounting and switching to electronic accounting will improve the work of the TCC and eliminate corruption risks.
