Rubio noted that the United States is seeking to end the war in Ukraine as quickly as possible, but stressed that it is not yet possible to name an exact time frame for the end of the conflict. He noted that in order to achieve peace, “both sides must make concessions.”

Every time you end a conflict between two sides, neither of which can achieve its maximum goals, each of them will have to give in on something, he explained.

At the same time, he refused to specify what exactly Ukraine might give in on. At the same time, the official also clearly noted that Russia is the aggressor in this war.

“We want the war to end, and that's pretty clear. You saw what the president (Donald Trump, – Channel 24) said. He wants to be the president who promotes peace and stops conflicts,” Rubio emphasized.

In addition, he assured that a ceasefire in Ukraine is “Trump's top priority,” so the relevant negotiations “could probably begin immediately.”

“In fact, some things have already begun. Hopefully, some groundwork has already been laid,” Rubio noted, adding that we are talking about “a complex and bloody conflict that needs to be end”.
