“With agreements worth 2.3 billion euros, we aim to free up to 10 billion euros in investments to rebuild homes, reopen hospitals, revive businesses and ensure energy security. This is solidarity in action,” von der Leyen said.
According to her, Ukraine is getting closer to the EU every day – in education, energy, culture and roaming.
It is specified that this package includes 1.8 billion euros in loan guarantees and 580 million euros in grants.
In addition, this package should mobilize up to 10 billion euros of new investments in Ukraine.
In particular, these funds will go to small and medium-sized businesses, large-scale private sector projects (energy, manufacturing and transport), municipal infrastructure in areas affected by the war, stabilization of power grids, repair and restoration of critical infrastructure and housing.
Let us recall that the fourth Conference on the restoration of Ukraine began in Rome on July 10.
It brought together about 5,000 participants. This event, organized by the governments of Ukraine and Italy, will host almost 100 government delegations and 40 delegations from international organizations, about 2,000 enterprises, representatives of local authorities and civil society.
Previous such events have taken place since 2022 in Lugano, London and Berlin.
