Portugal joined the Czech Republic's initiative to purchase ammunition for Ukraine — the country has allocated €100 million for this.
The Portuguese Ministry of Defense informed about this on the social network X.
— Portugal supports Ukraine by providing 100 million euros for large-caliber artillery ammunition. Together with several European countries, we are joining the Czech procurement initiative, — the message says.

February 17, Czech President Petr Pavel, during the Ukrainian lunch, which took place in Munich, announced that his country had found 800 thousand shells for delivery to Ukraine.

Among the countries that have agreed to fund the initiative — Germany, the Netherlands, Belgium, France, Norway, Sweden, Canada, Denmark and others. The full list of participating states has not been made public.
As Czech President Petr Pavel said, the Ukrainian military will receive the first batches of ammunition “no later than June” 2024.
