During the war, at the end of the summer, the lakes of academician Yuvenaly Zaitsev dried up. They were a unique decoration of the Tuzlovsky estuaries.
The unique lakes dried up due to a number of factors, and above all – because of human. This was announced by Doctor of Biological Sciences, professor and science journalist Ivan Rusev.
Help. The lakes of academician Yuvenaly Zaitsev are a unique and protected system of small inland lakes near the Balaton sandy bay, located in the lower reaches of the Alibey estuary on the border with the Shagani and Karachaus estuaries. By the decision of the scientific and technical council of the NNP “Tuzlovsky Limany” it is customary to call these lakes – reserved lakes of academician Yuvenaly Zaitsev. In addition to the fact that on February 24, 2022, the invaders passed and polluted the Black Sea and killed dolphins with sonars, against the background of the war, the lakes of Academician Yuvenaly Zaitsev also dried up at the end of summer.
- The scientist explained that this comes from the fact that this year almost no water enters the estuaries and lakes from outside. There was also no runoff of fresh water along small rivers to estuaries.
- Also this year, the water level of the Danube River is extremely low, and therefore water does not enter the Dzhantsheysky and Maly Sasyk estuaries without replenishing the lake.
- At the same time, there is no water exchange between the Black Sea and the Tuzlovsky estuaries.
In addition to military operations, one of the reasons for the lack of water exchange is the fact that the Odessa Regional State Administration, namely Deputy Head of the Regional State Administration Oleg Muratov and the Department of Ecology of the Regional State Administration Pavel Bulanovich illegally blocked the issuance of permits to local fishermen who were ready to do such important environmental work at their own expense, which I wrote about earlier and open the abyss. But this did not happen, – said Ivan Rusev.
Thus, the fishermen were left without fish, and the evaporation of water from the estuaries, against the background of the lack of water exchange, led to the complete drying of the reserved lakes, where the unique bird gardens of the galagazov were concentrated.
I am the voice of the voiceless nature, and I, like many of my colleagues and friends in Ukraine and abroad, will fight for nature and for my country Ukraine to the bitter end. Ukraine will definitely be reborn! We, together with the fearless Ukrainian army, each as best we can, must defend our land from the perfidious barbarians – from the Russian empire of evil,
– said the scientist.

Russians have occupied 8 nature reserves and 12 national parks
As of the beginning of September, 8 Ukrainian reserves and 12 national natural parks are under Russian occupation. In particular, Dzharilgach, Kinburn Spit, Askania Nova and the Holy Mountains National Park were under occupation. The situation there is catastrophic. Unique monuments of nature simply disappear from the face of the earth.
