On the night of October 22, it was quiet in Kharkiv. However, the settlements of the region were again subjected to shelling by Russian invaders from weapons of various types. According to the General Staff, over the previous day, the enemy fired at 15 settlements in the Kharkiv region – Kharkov, Chuguevsky. Bogodukhovsky and Kupyansky districts, in particular, Volchansk and Dvuhletnaya. As a result of these attacks, 3 people from different settlements were injured. This Channel 24 was told by Anna Chernenko, a correspondent from Kharkiv.

In addition, 4 fires broke out. Consequently, several communities of the Kharkiv region are now partially without electricity. We are talking about Merefyanskaya, Novovodolazhskaya, Dergachevskaya, Lyubotinsky, Lozovsky, Bogodukhovsky, Valkovskaya and Zmievskaya communities.

Communal services are already working to restore power supply and ask residents to wait a few hours. In addition, the authorities urge to save electricity when they appear, so as not to overload the network.

In Kharkiv, although there were no night shelling, the number of wounded increased as a result of previous arrivals, which took place on the morning of October 21, when the city was once again attacked from the S-300. So, to this day, 11 wounded are known, among them 1 person is in serious condition, and the rest are in average. Recall that on the day of the shelling, 6 victims asked for help.

Kharkiv region has been suffering since the beginning of a full-scale war

Channel 24 journalists managed to film one of the sites for the temporary storage of safe remnants of rockets, shells and other pieces of iron that flew and continue to fly from Russia to Kharkov and the region. The number of these debris and remnants is amazing, especially if you interfere with the fact that there are several such sites.

“When you look at the results of shelling, one or several per day, this is one thing. And when you see how many tons this iron was assembled, this is an insane figure, and this cannot but impress,” the correspondent shared.

There are more than 5 thousand units. This location has remnants of Grad, Hurricane, Tornado and Tornado-S. To date, the city of Kharkiv is suffering from rocket attacks and kamikaze drones. But most often it is rocket attacks from the S-300. – said the head of the humanitarian demining unit Igor Ovcharuk.

All these remnants are evidence of Russian aggression against Ukraine. In addition to domestic experts, police, prosecutors and security services, they can also be examined by foreign experts. In particular, such remnants are brought to court, because several sentences have already been passed against the Russian military who entered the territory of Ukraine.

Dmitry Chubarenko, a representative of the prosecutor’s office of the Kharkiv region, said that, for example, in the spring of 2022, 2 people, servicemen of the Russian armed forces, were taken prisoner, subsequently received suspicion and convicted. They received real sentences, and this became one of the first such precedents on the territory of Ukraine regarding the full-scale military aggression of Russia. p>Saltovsky district suffered the most from enemy shelling of Kharkov. The Russians attacked it especially actively, so there are still a lot of destroyed and badly damaged houses there. Their residents are trying to repair them on their own to make them livable in winter.

It is important that many houses on Saltovka have already been supplied with electricity, gas, and partly water. People hope that soon heating will be turned on wherever possible – in Kharkiv, they promise to connect the housing stock after October 25th. However, already now there are, for example, medical institutions where heating has already been launched.

“But, unfortunately, due to the scale of the destruction, some houses, some residential high-rise buildings will not be connected, because there is simply no entrance, no house, no several upper floors,” the journalist said.

The mayor's office says that there will be about 50 such houses without heating. The regional department of housing and communal services says that this figure may be higher, but utilities are doing everything possible to reduce the number of such houses.

Residents of the district told Channel 24 how exactly they are preparing for the winter. One of them is a man named Dmitry. Heating for the winter is not supposed to be in his house yet. He came home only for the summer and autumn, and he would not spend the winter in Kharkov. However, some of his neighbors decided to stay, so now they are setting up a life for themselves.

House without electricity, without gas, without water, without heating. We close it so that at least it doesn’t blow, snow, water doesn’t fly into the first floors. We made the roof ourselves, what remained intact – we made holes, we made money where it flowed over the attics, we did the storm drains. People live here, by the way. Without electricity, without gas, they cook on the street, on fires. They made grills, they carry water, – said Dmitry, a resident of Severnaya Saltovka.

Another Kharkiv woman named Olga returned home from the West of Ukraine and plans to stay in Saltovka in the winter. Now she has almost all communications at home, so she hopes that everything will be fine in the future, and the infrastructure will withstand.

“We were here until March 4, we saw these arrivals, these explosions, how people descended on sheets from the upper floors. We stayed for a week, realized that we couldn’t stand it, and decided to leave. In our house, the technical floor was completely demolished. We'll see, we hope that everything will be fine. In any case, we don't have water and heating, but we don't need it yet, we need to save money,” the Kharkiv resident shared.

Preparing for winter in other parts of the city. For example, in the Gorizont microdistrict, an apartment building damaged by shelling and fire is being repaired. It was destroyed several floors in two entrances. Engineers had to look for ways to replace the retaining walls. The repair was scheduled to be carried out in 60 days, and now it is being completed.
