700 people died in Chernihiv/Chernigiv.City
Most of the inhabitants of Chernihiv have left their homes. During the month and a half of the war, about 700 people died in this city alone.
At the same time, 70 bodies could not be identified, the names of the rest are known. This was announced by the mayor of Chernigov, Vladislav Atroshenko.
During the war, about 700 people died in Chernigov. This is both military and civilian,” Atroshenko said.
Also, 40 people are missing. But, according to the mayor, most likely they also died, since the last time they were seen near the buildings and cars that the occupiers destroyed.
Most of Chernihiv residents left the city
According to the mayor, Chernihiv has 80-95 thousand people left. By the beginning of a full-scale war, the population ranged from 285 to 290 thousand people.
Recall that the Chernihiv region was completely liberated from the enemy. The occupiers left behind ruins:
- 15-20% of houses were damaged in Chernihiv;
- 30% were completely destroyed in the suburbs.
At the same time, residents are still urged to be careful: certain roads are generally impassable, and large areas are mined by the enemy. In addition, there is a threat of missile strikes.
