With Western allies hesitant to continue supporting Ukraine, Russian dictator Vladimir Putin may once again believe he will win the war.
This was stated by Lithuanian Foreign Minister Gabrielius Landsbergis before the start of the EU External Relations Council.
“The situation now looks like Putin is preparing to dust off his plans for Victory Day, which he shelved for a while, but after seeing the discussions in Washington, the inability of Europe to move forward on the issue of military support for Ukraine and the growing pressure on Ukrainian forces at the front , I think he can now happily start planning again,” he said.
According to Gabrielus, Europe was able to put pressure so that the only day of victory in this war could be in Kyiv and celebrated by Ukrainians. However, now, “the situation appears to be uncertain again.”

“We have already demonstrated the ability to make very important decisions. Europe has already demonstrated leadership. Now is the time for us to do it again,” the minister added.
The Foreign Minister also opposed negotiations with Russia, since this is “the path to victory day in Moscow.”
“Putin worked very actively on this. And such a day may come. The day when Ukrainians will no longer be able to fight because we cannot provide them with weapons… There is no “meeting in the middle” here. If it comes to a ceasefire and we try to pull it off with arguments that we defended Kyiv and other Ukrainian territories, it will be clearly clear that this is a victory for Putin,” he emphasized.
Gabrielius Landsbergis also said that the EU is considering a backup plan for military support for Ukraine.
