In Ukraine there will be no extra days off on New Year and Christmas. The fact is that during martial law, some rules regarding holidays and non-working days, as well as the postponement of days off, do not apply.
This is stated in the Law “On the Organization of Labor Relations under Martial Law” . Read more on Channel 24.
There will be no extra days off in January
Earlier, when holidays fell on Saturday or Sunday, the day off was on Monday. However, in conditions of a full-scale war, days off are not carried over to the next day.
In particular, according to Article 6 of the Law of Ukraine “On the organization of labor relations under martial law”, during martial law, the norms establishing holidays and non-working days.
So, the weekends of January 1 and 7 in 2023 are not transferred to Mondays, January 2 and 9 and will be regular working days.
Please note! In the Central Interregional Department of the State Labor Service noted: “If the employer, together with the labor collective, decided to maintain additional days off during martial law through the relevant provisions of the collective agreement, these days are excluded from the norm of working hours per month and year and in case of work these days, it is paid according to the rules for working on a day off.
