Russia faces a shortage of sausages and sausages/Channel 24
The sanctions policy may provoke a shortage of sausages in Russia. All because of the decision of the European Union to ban the supply of artificial sausage casings made of hardened protein and cellulose materials to the aggressor country.
The EU announced this decision in early April. The ban will take effect on July 10, 2022. Companies of the aggressor state that managed to replenish their stocks will be able to hold out thanks to this for approximately three months. This is reported by the Russian media.

Consequently, Russian companies operating in this area warn of a potential shortage of sausages and sausages in2-3 months. In 2021, the EU accounted for about 73% of imports of sausage casings, which are used for the production of sausages.

At the same time, the only major manufacturer of multilayer polyamide casing in Russian Rostov-on-Don does not have the necessary capacity to meet the demand at the national level.
In addition, this production will soon face a lack of components to ensure work, because the lion's share of them is imported from Europe. As of today, this plant is no longer capable of producing some types of sausage casings.
