The President of Poland Andrzej Duda said that his country is not against supplying Ukraine with old military equipment, which will be replaced by purchasing new ones.
He said this in an interview with Super Express, commenting on the statement of Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki to stop sending weapons to Ukraine.
— There can be no question of transferring new equipment that we are currently buying, for example, K2 howitzers or K9 tanks. This equipment should serve to strengthen the Polish army. We don't spend billions to suddenly give it away, — said Duda.
At the same time, the Polish president stressed that this does not mean that Warsaw will not transfer weapons to Kiev at all.
Now they are watching
&# 8212; When old equipment is replaced with modern equipment, I have no problem sending it to Ukrainians, — he added.
Duda also called for remembering who will benefit most if the paths of Poland and Ukraine diverge, because “the consequences could be tragic”.
Duda previously said that the decision to extend the ban on the import of Ukrainian agricultural products was correct.
