Olaf Scholz recently had a telephone conversation with dictator Putin. The Polish President did not appreciate this step by the German Chancellor.

Duda stated that Scholz was trying to undermine the attempts of the newly elected US President Trump to stop Russia's aggression against Ukraine. This was reported by Channel 24, citing Bloomberg.

Scholz wanted to end the war before Trump's inauguration, Duda

Duda supported Trump during his first term as US President.

This was an attempt to achieve a ceasefire in Ukraine before Donald Trump took office, Duda said.

The Polish leader also criticized Scholz for inviting US President Joe Biden to negotiate the future of Ukraine with the leaders of France and Great Britain in October 2024 in Berlin.

Duda also said that “shocked” that President Zelensky was not invited to these talks.

The publication says that Duda's position is the latest evidence of how Ukraine's partners are “jockeying for position ahead of a major geopolitical upheaval” triggered by Trump's upcoming return to the White House.

“The Polish president's statements could play out in the delicate diplomatic environment following the re-election of Trump, who has cast doubt on Kyiv's support and signaled that he will end Russia's war in Ukraine before his inauguration on January 20. Ukraine's allies are now changing course as expectations grow that the conflict can be ended more quickly,” Bloomberg writes.
