President Andrzej Duda accused Germany in breach of its promise to exchange tanks. After all, Poland provided its equipment to Ukraine. Germany was supposed to send its Poland, but did not keep its word.
Duda stressed in an interview that Germany promised to deliver tanks, but she did not keep this promise.
The President of Poland has criticized the activities of the federal government because of the broken promise in the agreed ring exchange of tanks .
“You did not keep this promise. And, frankly, we are very disappointed,” said Duda.
Note that the German government promised Poland to replace the Polish tanks that they put in Ukraine. This weakened Poland's military potential.
Duda confirmed that Poland has provided Ukraine with a large number of tanks because, according to him, it is their responsibility as a neighbor.
Therefore, Poland hoped for the support of NATO, the United States and Germany.
Most of our tank arsenal in the armed forces of Poland are German tanks of the Leopard type. If Germany supported us, if we received a replacement in the form of an annular exchange of tanks, we would be very happy,” the president said.
Duda believes that the German federal government is doing too little to help Ukraine. “First of all, Germany itself should help Ukraine. She (Ukraine – Channel 24) really needs this help very urgently,” he added.
After Duda's criticism, the German Federal Foreign Minister Annalena Burbock discussed the tank exchange with her Polish colleague Zbigniew Rau. She told the reasons why the necessary exchange has not yet taken place and stated that they want to fix everything there.
The official added that Germany cannot quickly deliver heavy military equipment, especially not in terms of their stocks. But the country is working to supply more weapons, ammunition and heavy weapons.
By the way, the President of Poland recently visited Ukraine for the first time since the beginning of the war. At a press conference with Volodymyr Zelensky in Kyiv, Duda assured him of his full support, in particular, in the desire to join the EU.
During his speech in the Verkhovna Rada, Andrzej Duda also said that Poland had provided Ukraine with weapons for 2 billion dollars. We are talking about tanks, armored personnel carriers, air defense and military ammunition.
