The State Bureau of Investigation has detained and charged a law enforcement officer from Zhitomir Oblast who, while intoxicated, caused a fatal traffic accident.

The driver of the car lost control and crashed into a concrete support.
As the investigation established, the driver was a police officer who, during off-duty hours, was transporting three passengers: two underage girls aged 16 and 17 and a 25-year-old man.
As a result of the collision, a 16-year-old girl died at the scene.
The remaining victims – a 17-year-old girl, a 25-year-old man and the driver himself – were hospitalized with multiple injuries.
The results of the medical examination established that the police officer was driving while heavily intoxicated.
The alcohol level in his blood was more than five times the legal limit.
The State Bureau of Investigation officers detained the suspect and informed him of the suspicion.
