At least five drones attacked Sergiev Posad, eyewitnesses report. Local residents heard several explosions and the roar of an engine, typical of a drone's flight, in the Zvezdochka microdistrict. The first explosion thundered around 5 a.m. Locals claim that electricity went out in some areas of the city.
According to the Astra Telegram channel, an electrical substation was damaged in Sergiev Posad as a result of the drone crash. Currently, the Zvezdochka, Rabochy Poselok and railway station microdistricts are without electricity.

It is known that Sergiev Posad is home to the Zagorsk Optical and Mechanical Plant, a Russian military enterprise. It is part of the Russian state defense conglomerate Rostec. The Zagorsk Optical and Mechanical Plant produces pyrotechnics and high-precision optical equipment for the military: infrared night vision devices and binoculars.
