On the night of February 11, Russia attacked Ukraine with Shahed drones, which were repulsed in nine regions. Explosions were heard within the Kyiv, Vinnitsa, Zhytomyr, Kirovograd, Nikolaev, Cherkassy, Odessa, Dnepropetrovsk, and Kherson regions.
A number of decrees relating to dismissals and appointments of commanders of the Armed Forces of Ukraine were published on the website of the Office of the President.
At the same time, near Avdiivka, fierce battles continue between the Ukrainian Defense Forces and the Russian occupiers, who have been trying to capture the city for a long time.

Drone attack in Ukraine
On the night of February 11, Russian troops launched 45 Shahed attack drones across Ukraine from the areas of Balaklava and Cape Chauda — Crimea.
According to information from the Air Force of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, as a result of combat operations, 40 drones were destroyed within the Kiev, Vinnitsa, Zhytomyr, Kirovograd, Nikolaev, Cherkassy, Odessa, Dnepropetrovsk and Kherson regions.
In particular, explosions were heard in Kyiv during an air raid raid. The drones were heading towards the capital from the western direction. According to the KGVA, all drones were destroyed on the outskirts of the city.
At the same time, as a result of a drone attack in Nikolaev, a man was injured and a fire broke out in the open area of an infrastructure facility. Mayor Alexander Senkevich said that the administrative building, residential and country houses, cars, and gas pipelines were damaged.
Personnel changes in the Armed Forces of Ukraine
President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky signed decrees that relate to dismissals and appointments of commanders of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Among them:
- Commander of the Air Assault Forces of the Ukrainian Armed Forces — Maxim Mirgorodsky was fired, Igor Skibyuk was appointed;
- Commander of the Territorial Defense Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine — appointed Igor Plahuta;
- Commander of the Ground Forces of the Ukrainian Armed Forces — Alexander Pavlyuk appointed;
- Commander of the Joint Forces of the Ukrainian Armed Forces — Sergei Naev was fired, Yuri Sodol was appointed.
Battles for Avdiivka
The situation near Avdiivka remains very tense, as the Russian occupiers are trying to enter the city from all sides, but the Ukrainian Defense Forces do not give them such an opportunity. At the same time, the Russian army intends to capture Novomikhailovka and other territories.
The commander of the operational-strategic group of troops of Tavria, Alexander Tarnavsky, noted that the Russian Federation more often adds armored groups to the assault infantry groups. But Ukrainian soldiers are steadfastly holding their defense. Among them — fresh forces that entered the battle.
Blockade of the border with Poland
On the border with Ukraine, Polish farmers blocked the movement of trucks at two checkpoints. Among them: Yagodin — Dorogusk and Rava-Russkaya — Grebennoye. From February 12, protesters can block traffic at two more checkpoints.
Speaker of the State Border Service Andrey Demchenko noted that opposite Yagodin on the territory of Poland towards Ukraine, 700 trucks were waiting in queues, and opposite Rava-Russkaya about 400 vehicles.
Money from Japan for restoration
Japan may allocate 15.8 billion yen (approximately $106 million) for the restoration of Ukraine in seven areas affected by Russia's full-scale war.
The money will be used to improve infrastructure and demining Ukrainian territories.
According to foreign journalists, the parties will agree on Japan's participation in the post-war reconstruction of Ukraine and will sign more than 10 memorandums of cooperation at a conference scheduled for February 19 in Tokyo.
