< strong _ngcontent-sc87="">The Russian military, while trying to cut off the Luhansk region from the Lysychansk-Bakhmut highway, damaged a large-diameter gas pipeline. Therefore, the gas supply of the Donetsk region is still in doubt.

This was announced by the head of the Luhansk regional military administration Sergei Gaidai. The Russians on the border of Donbass and Lugansk region, trying to advance and seize the road, got into the main gas pipeline with a diameter of 1200 millimeters.

According to Gaidai, due to such actions, the pressure in the pipeline immediately decreased, and this calls into question the further gas supply to the neighboring region. At the same time, it is still extremely difficult to get to the depressurized section due to active hostilities.

36 thousand consumers from 3 settlements of the Luhansk region have some supply of blue fuel due to the residual pressure in pipes,” said the chairman of the OVA.

Gas supply may stop completely

The head of the Donetsk Regional Military Administration Pavel Kirilenko also confirmed the difficult situation with the supply of gas to consumers. According to him, the main node through which gas was supplied earlier is now occupied by the Russians, so the supply through it was stopped.

The reserve node was damaged back in April during the hostilities. At the same time, the enterprise is not able to start repairs due to the constant shelling of the occupiers.

Each new shelling leads to a drop in pressure in the networks. It also complicates the operation of the entire system. All this may lead to a complete halt of gas supply in the region in the near future, – said Kirilenko.

What local residents will need to do

According to the head of the OVA, if gas supplies are stopped, each consumer will have to:

  • close the gas supply valves in front of each appliance;
  • wait for information from the local administration about the resumption of gas supplies, indicating the work schedule;
  • under no circumstances interfere with the operation of gas networks on your own.
