Volunteer bitten by a dog

Last night I was finishing my way at 43 kilometers. I was walking slowly towards the car that was supposed to take me to the hotel, when I suddenly felt a strong sharp pain.

At first I thought I tore a tendon because the pain went all over my leg. However, a dog suddenly barked and a passing car flashed its headlights. Then I saw that the dog was going to attack me again. I quickly opened the car door and jumped in.

My friend believes that it was a Caucasian Shepherd Dog. At first, we planned to just go to the pharmacy. However, I saw that the dog had gnawed through two layers of my clothes and left a serious bite on my leg. So we went to the hospital because of the risk of contracting rabies.

The nearest hospital was in Gaisin, 40 kilometers away. There they examined me, treated the wound and gave me an injection for rabies. The doctor prescribed 4 more injections for me, which will need to be done on specific days within a month.

Now I feel good, my leg does not hurt much, so I can continue on my way . You must take everything that happens positively. At least now there is something to write about.

Volunteer has important plans

I stayed overnight in Gysin, Vinnitsa region. By the way, I have important plans for tomorrow:

  • reach the Cherkasy region;
  • pass half of my marathon

So far I have managed collect 98,317 crowns, 34,564 hryvnias and 254 euros. This is still very far from the amount that I planned to raise – 1.5 million kroons.
