Недовольны политикой ЕС и дешевым импортом из Украины: чешские фермеры планируют блокировать границу

Czech farmers are joining the agricultural protests that have swept a number of countries in Central and Eastern Europe. People are unhappy with the EU agricultural policy and the import of cheaper products from Ukraine.

This was reported by Novinky.cz.

The mass event will take place on February 22. Farmers plan to travel to Prague with heavy agricultural equipment to block the highway. The Czechs will also organize protest trips to border crossings, where they will meet with colleagues from other countries.

Now watching

According to the press secretary of the Agrarian Chamber, Barbora Pankova, it is impossible to predict how many tractors and other heavy equipment will head to the border.

— We cannot exclude that border crossings and road routes will be blocked, — she told Novinky.cz.

In Prague they want to block the motorway

Earlier, farmers announced a protest rally at the building of the Ministry of Agriculture, which is located in Tesnov. They plan to be there from 6 am to 11:00 am. They want to draw attention to the poor state of Czech agriculture and will also send a letter to Agriculture Minister Marek Vyborny demanding that the Czech government withdraw from the Green Deal for Europe.

Next Monday between 600 and 1,000 tractors and other agricultural equipment may arrive in Prague. City officials are worried that this will create a traffic jam.
