Russia is fueling global conflicts so that the West will stop helping Ukraine. In particular, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov called Moldova “the next victim of a hybrid war.”

This was noticed by Channel 24 by the general of the Ukrainian army, head of the Foreign Intelligence Service (in 2005 – 2010) Nikolai Malomuzh. According to him, Vladimir Putin also benefits from the Hamas attack on Israel and the conflict between Venezuela and Guyana.

Lavrov's threats

Nikolai Malomuzh noted that Russia’s global project is inflaming the situation between Israel and the Arab world. Hezbollah, Islamic Jihad, along with Iran are collaborating with Russia. Russian intelligence services are there as consultants. They may even be running these terrorist organizations. They began to attack Israel.

However, Russia failed to fully achieve all its goals with this project. Therefore, now the aggressor country is trying to inflame the situation with Moldova, accusing it of moving towards the EU and NATO and supporting Ukraine.

The Kremlin was confident that they had a great influence on Moldova, but this was not the case. President Maia Sandu declares support for Ukraine, which, of course, Russia really doesn’t like.

Lavrov is trying to threaten that if the integration of Moldova into the EU and NATO is effective, this will be the reason for the start of a new escalation both in Moldova itself and between Russia and NATO and the EU. In Russia they want to find another axis of local confrontation. This will not be global,” the general explained.

Briefly about Russia's threats towards Moldova

  • On November 30, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov publicly threatened Moldova at the OSCE ministerial meeting in Macedonia. He traditionally tried to blame the West for Russia’s problems and stated that Moldova was supposedly destined to be “the next victim in the hybrid war unleashed by the West against Russia.”
  • The Moldavian Foreign Ministry responded to Lavrov’s statement and called it part of the hostile actions that Russia has been trying to commit against this country over the past 30 years. They also emphasized that Moldova is following the European path and insists on the immediate and unconditional withdrawal of Russian troops from its territory.
  • The Institute for the Study of War noted that Lavrov’s statement was made for a reason. The Kremlin is preparing to once again undermine Moldova from the inside in order to distract the world from the war in Ukraine.
