Sergei Naev was dismissed from the post of commander of the Joint Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, which he held since 2020. The corresponding decree No. 70/2024 dated February 11, 2024 was published on the website of the Office of the President.

— These were difficult times. One of the most difficult periods in the history of Ukraine. And together with you we walked this path with dignity. Ukraine retained freedom and statehood. This is the merit of each of us, — noted Sergey Naev.
However, the lieutenant general noted that the work is not finished, since Russia’s full-scale war against Ukraine is still ongoing. According to him, the enemy must be destroyed, Ukrainian lands deoccupied, and evil punished.
— I'm sure we can do it! Ukrainians know how to create miracles, so I believe in each of you! I dream of our victory. I know that this day will come, — emphasized Naev.
He thanked all generals, officers, sergeants and soldiers for their dedicated service, coordinated work, joint efforts, trust and support, as well as all Ukrainians for their patriotism and significant assistance to the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
