The Drohobych city district court of the Lviv region sent a man to jail for 3 years for evading mobilization. The defendant was unable to arrive at the TCC and SP (formerly the military registration and enlistment office – Ed.) at the time specified in the agenda due to an air raid warning. Afterwards, he came to the TCC several more times on various summonses, but he was not mobilized, and later a criminal case was opened for evading military service.
The court sentenced 28-year-old Vladimir B. to 3 years in prison for he avoided mobilization. The decision was made by the judge of the Drohobych City District Court of the Lviv region, Ruslana Kurus, in September 2023.
The verdict notes that in October 2022, Vladimir passed a military medical commission and was declared fit for service. Already on October 12, he received a summons to appear at the TCC to be sent to a military unit. But Vladimir did not come at the indicated time, thereby avoiding the call. A criminal case was opened against him.

The man himself said that on October 26, 2022, he was supposed to come to the TCC at the time indicated on the agenda, but then there was an air raid alert in the Lviv region. Vladimir stated that he lives in Borislav and after the air raid was cleared, he was no longer able to get to Drohobych due to lack of transport.
Since the agenda specified the time when he was supposed to arrive at the acquisition center, but in At this time there was anxiety, which objectively made his arrival impossible, and therefore he had no obligation to arrive at the center at a time other than that specified in the agenda, — wrote the man's explanation in the court verdict.
Next, Vladimir received a summons to come to the TCC and SP on March 3, 2023, but then there was also an alarm and the man was not allowed inside. He was issued another summons on March 8, 2023. However, on that day he was informed that a criminal case had been opened against him, so they could no longer mobilize him.
Vladimir said that he received approximately 5 summonses, came to the TCC, but was never mobilized. The man is convinced that “all responsibility for this lies solely with the officials of the RTCC.”
According to the judge, Vladimir evaded trial and was put on the wanted list. Therefore, he was found guilty of evading mobilization and sentenced to 3 years in prison. The man has the right to appeal.
