On Channel 24, journalist from Nikolaev Alexander Matyushenko noted that full information is still expected .

According to him, currently the head of the Nikolaev OVA, Vitaly Kim, said that about 20 production facilities were opened.

As Major General of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Dmitry Marchenko stated, about 400 people were recorded who allegedly transmitted information to the other side. They are suspects and are being checked, – said Alexander Matyushenko.

He added that the press officer of the Nikolaev OVA Dmitry Pletenchuk said whether the trend of shelling Nikolaev after the extended curfew had changed. According to him, it is the shelling that does not stop – they are chaotic. Perhaps the enemy now has less information on important structural objects, which he probably could prepare a strike against. Now this information is less, but the chaotic attacks do not stop.

“This night is a confirmation of this, because the private sector suffered again, residential buildings where there are no military facilities were damaged,” Alexander Matyushenko emphasized.

What is the situation in Nikolaev

  • A long curfew in the city began at 23 :00 on August 5 and ended at 5:00 on August 8. The head of the Mykolaiv regional military-civilian administration, Vitaly Kim, reported on the first results of a two-day “raid”.
  • The authorities of the Mykolaiv region announced a $100 reward for confirmed information about spotters of Russian fire. This was done to encourage the local population. However, people often refuse money and ask to transfer this amount to the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
  • The Russians will not be able to advance on Nikolaev in the near future. However, it is quite possible that the capture of the city is in the plans of the invaders in the next six months.
