Due to the destruction of the tunnels of the blue line of the Kiev metro, Prime Minister of Ukraine Denis Shmygal ordered a meeting of the State Commission on Technogenic-Environmental Safety and Emergency Situations to be held on December 9.
According to him, the main task — quickly assess the situation and take measures to prevent the development of a negative scenario. The most important — protect people's lives and avoid transport collapse in Kyiv.
— During a full-scale war, the Kiev metro has double strategic importance — as a transport artery and as a bomb shelter where thousands of people find shelter, — drew the attention of the Prime Minister.
Shmygal noted that at the meeting of the State Commission they plan to find out whether, due to the actions or inaction of the city authorities, there was a threat of flooding and destruction of the tunnels of the blue line of the capital’s metro.
