Destroys Putin's game: a political scientist named 2 important results of the summit in Switzerland Natalya Belzetskaya

The Global Peace Summit, in which 100 countries and organizations took part, ended in Switzerland. Following the meeting, most of them signed a final communiqué, which consolidates the foundations of peace in Ukraine.

It is worth noting that the Peace Summit was representative and this confirms the participation of so many countries. About this 24 Channelsaid political scientist Vladimir Fesenko, adding that there is a final document that testifies to the support of Ukraine.

What are the results of the Peace Summit< /h2>

Two specific results can be distinguished. The first is that the Summit began a peace process that is based on the UN Charter, on respect for international law. Moreover, the President of Ukraine at the opening said that they are talking about a peace process that meets our interests, takes into account Ukrainian positions and the Ukrainian Peace Formula.

This destroys the Russian game, the Russian strategy for negotiations and ending the war. It stipulates that we must make concessions to Russia, agree to its demands, and this is actually capitulation. It is no coincidence that Vladimir Putin voiced his obscene proposals for the surrender of Ukraine on the eve of the Summit, emphasized Vladimir Fesenko.

However, in Switzerland we saw sharp criticism of these Putin pseudo-peace proposals. Therefore the second important result is support for Ukraine, support for the Peace Formula. Indeed, some countries support us completely, some partially, but even this strengthens our potential negotiating positions.

Also important was the condemnation of the positions of Russia, which demands surrender from Ukraine. It is no coincidence that many of the Summit participants said that it is impossible to move towards peace through surrender. Moreover, Russia is recognized as an aggressor, a country that is waging war against Ukraine. This is indicated in the final document.

As the Swiss president said, the path to peace will not be quick. This is obvious and is connected with Russia’s position. It will be complex, contradictory, and we need to prepare for this in parallel spaces, that is, on the one hand, pressure on Putin at the front, then he will be more accommodating, and in parallel, diplomatic pressure,” the political scientist emphasized.

So Putin will agree to negotiations on completely different conditions. The Peace Summit was precisely an instrument of diplomatic pressure – a demonstration that Ukraine is supported by a significant part of the international community. This process will continue.

Peace Summit in Switzerland: the main thing

  • The global diplomatic event was attended by representatives of almost hundreds of countries, as well as world organizations. As a result, 78 participants and 4 organizations signed a joint document that enshrines the three points of the Peace Formula. They talk about the safety of nuclear power plants, which should operate under the control of Ukraine, food security, the exchange of prisoners and the return of kidnapped children.
  • At the Summit, statements were made about the possibility of negotiations with Russia and the conditions under which this can happen. A number of participants did not deny that the aggressor country could attend the next peace summit. In turn, Vladimir Zelensky noted that he is ready to begin negotiations “even tomorrow,” but for this, Russia must first leave the territory of Ukraine.
  • Vladimir Zelensky announced the holding of the second Peace Summit. According to him, there are already countries that are ready to accept participants and this will happen in the coming months. The President emphasized that the next Summit should bring together joint work on the details of peace during war.
