The head of the Donetsk Regional Prosecutor's Office reported in absentia that a member of the Mariupol City Council was suspected of high treason committed under martial law.
This was announced on June 7 by the Prosecutor General's Office. The sanction of the article provides for punishment in the form of imprisonment for a term of 15 or life imprisonment with confiscation of property.According to the investigation, the deputy of the city council of Mariupol, who fell into the temporary control of the Russian occupiers, voluntarily agreed to cooperate with Russian criminals. Those, in turn, promised the traitor the pseudo-position of “First Deputy Head of the Administration of the City of Mariupol”.
According to the Office of the Prosecutor General, now the suspect is responsible for:
- search for movable and immovable property of municipal enterprises of the Mariupol City Council,
- data on registration of property in the bodies of the so-called “DNR”,
- creation of a commission to establish the state of Mariupol's infrastructure and housing stock.
In addition, the ex-deputy is recruiting residents of the city. Thus, the Russian troops are trying to involve as many people as possible in the formation of the occupation authorities.
“The pre-trial investigation is being carried out by the Main Directorate of the SBU in the Donetsk and Lugansk regions,” the Office of the Prosecutor General noted.

This is not the first precedent when the invaders manage to bend the residents of Mariupol. So, at the end of April, the Prosecutor General's Office reported suspicions to a city council deputy from the Opposition Platform – During Life party, agreed to cooperate with the invaders. For this, she was “awarded” with the position of “deputy head of administration” of the city of Mariupol.
The collaborator actively spoke on Russian channels and agitated the population for the “Russian world”.
