According to the speaker of the National Police of the region Serhiy Kreta, on April 23 a woman drove a car into the Archicathedral Cathedral in Ternopil. The car broke the shroud and the icon of St. Charbel. The car was also damaged.

Subsequently, the examination found that the driver was under the influence of drugs. During the court hearing on April 27, she admitted her guilt and asked for forgiveness from the Ternopils and parishioners of the temple.

The woman was sentenced to 60 days in custody with the right to make bail – 49 thousand 620 hryvnia According to her lawyer, the relatives of Yavorskaya-Skrabut will compensate the church for the damage caused. The driver is charged with article 178 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine – damage to religious buildings or houses of worship.
