Due to Trump's intention to buy Greenland, Denmark changed the royal coat of arms Alexander Sadovaya

King Frederick of Denmark, who has been on the throne for less than a year, changed the royal coat of arms. The symbol of Greenland has become more noticeable on it. This may be related to the statements of the newly elected US President Donald Trump about his intentions to buy this territory.

24 Kanal writes about this with reference to The Guardian. It is noted that for 500 years, three crowns were depicted on the previous Danish royal coats of arms – a symbol of the Kalmar Union between Denmark, Norway and Sweden during 1397 – 1523.

The updated version of the coat of arms has removed the crown and replaced it with a more prominent polar bear and ram, which symbolise Greenland and the Faroe Islands respectively. The Danish Royal House said the coat of arms, which is used on official documents and seals and features elements dating back to the 12th century, “reinforces the authority of the commonwealth”. They explained that the three crowns were removed “because they are no longer relevant.”

Trump's son is coming to Greenland

Greenlandic Foreign Minister Minnguaq Kleist confirmed to broadcaster DR that the son of the newly elected US President Donald Trump Jr. will arrive in Greenland on Tuesday, January 7. Greenlandic authorities informed about his arrival in advance.

It is reported that this will be a private visit. There was no request for a meeting with the government, the Greenlandic Foreign Ministry emphasized.

Recall that Donald Trump has repeatedly voiced the idea of acquiring Greenland. That is why Denmark announced a significant increase in defense funding in Greenland. The Republican even mentioned this intention in his Christmas greeting. According to him, local residents allegedly want to see an American presence on the island.
