After the liberation of the Kiev region, everyone was shocked by the atrocities of Russian soldiers who ruthlessly raped, tortured and killed Ukrainians. Ombudsman Lyudmila Denisova says that the number of victims cannot yet be counted.
According to her, counting is impossible due to the large number of people killed. After all, they could become victims of violence before death.
Another story is when our women, girls, guys, and their parents are now telling us about the violent acts that were committed against them. But this is only a small fraction of these people who wanted to talk about it so that they would be given psychological support,” Denisova said.
She is sure that cases of rape in the territories occupied by Russia were massive. After the Kyiv region was liberated, the victims began to call and report about it.
Psychologists cannot cope
According to Denisova, psychologists work as victims.
“Our group for psychological support cannot cope with this, because they not only listened and recorded. This is a process, repeated support,” the Ombudsman said.
She briefly told what victims of violence say.
“These women and girls say that when they were raped, all these bastards said:” we will make it so that you never want to be allowed to men, so that later you will never have children,” she said.
There are also many cases when women become pregnant. Denisova named 11 of them. So far, these are only those who agreed to speak publicly.
