Maksishko volunteered to defend Ukraine back in 2014. Then – as part of the Right Sector volunteer corps. He was a machine gunner, took a direct part in the hostilities in the Donbass.

On March 14, Maksishko performed combat missions in the Pribuzhsky region of the Nikolaev region. “Under the constant fire influence of enemy artillery and aviation, he showed personal courage and heroism skillfully managing a subordinate unit,” the 28th Motorized Brigade stressed. According to his brothers, Denis inflicted a powerful fire defeat on the positions of the invaders – destroyed an enemy checkpoint, disabled equipment and destroyed many invaders.
“When moving to the area of reserve firing positions, hitting under massive artillery fire from Russian invaders, died heroically,” the Armed Forces of Ukraine said.
