National Police officers are conducting searches at the owners of the house and at the construction company that directly carried out the dismantling of the Zelensky estate building of the 19th century in Kyiv.
This is stated in a message from the press service of the Kyiv police.

It is noted that in the past the police and the prosecutor's office applied to the court three times to seize the land plot and the building at the specified address.

— However, at the request of the lawyers of the house owners, the court overturned it. The last time, on January 18 and February 19, at the initiative of the police and the prosecutor's office, a new seizure was imposed on the land plot and the house with a ban on any actions, — the message says.
Before this, criminal proceedings were initiated under three articles of the Criminal Code of Ukraine:
- on the fact of deliberate illegal destruction of cultural heritage objects (Part 2 of Article 298 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine);
- unauthorized construction (Part 3 of Article 197-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine)
- on the fact of illegal actions in relation to property that was seized (Part 1 of Article 388 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
Demolition of the Zelensky estate
Recall that on the evening of July 19, it became known that in the middle of the Ukrainian capital, the historical Zelensky estate, which was erected in 1890, was unauthorized demolished.
The mayor of Kyiv Vitaliy Klitschko was indignant at the situation and called the destruction of the building a “cynical provocation”, because, according to him, before the demolition of the building, the Kyiv City State Administration received a package of documentation on assigning the already destroyed house the status of a monument .
In the past, developers tried to destroy the Zelensky estate, and activist and co-founder of the Tsegla monument protection hub Dmitry Perov reported that they want to build a new residential complex Turgenev in that place, although the Ukrainian Institute of National Remembrance ruled that the construction does not meet the requirements of the law about decolonization.
