The publication writes that Kamala Harris will likely be the only candidate. About 4,000 Democratic delegates will take part in the online voting.

According to the rules, to be nominated as a candidate, it was necessary to submit documents and receive digital signatures from at least 300 delegates, with no more than 50 from one state. This had to be done before July 30.

No candidate fulfilled these conditions to become Kamala Harris's competitor in the fight for the Democratic nomination as a candidate for US President.

A few days after US President Joe Biden withdrew from the race for the seat, Harris was supported by more than 3,000 delegates. As a result, she collected 3,923 delegate signatures during the selection period.

Recall that on July 21, US President Joe Biden announced his withdrawal from the election race. He also supported Harris's candidacy for the presidential election.
