Prime Minister Denis Shmyhal was on a working visit to Prague on May 28. The purpose of the visit of the Ukrainian head of government was to discuss the implementation of the Czech initiative on ammunition for the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

According to the head of the Cabinet of Ministers, the Czech Republic collected 1.6 billion euros. All ammunition must arrive in our state on schedule.

The Prime Minister of Ukraine said that he arrived in Prague at the invitation of his Czech colleague, Petr Fiala, to participate in a broad working meeting regarding the needs of Ukraine together with the leaders of Poland, Latvia, Denmark, the Netherlands, and a representative of the United States.

During a bilateral meeting with Mr. Fiala, we discussed the implementation of the artillery initiative, for which more than 1.6 billion euros have already been collected. It is important for us that ammunition arrives on time, systematically and according to schedule from June,” Shmygal said.

In addition, the leaders of the Ukrainian and Czech governments also discussed the possibility of using partner weapons for protection on the territory of the aggressor. Shmygal thanked Fiala for his support in this matter.

“The topics of conversation include joint production in the defense industry, joining efforts to increase pressure on Russia. Sanctions, confiscation of Russian assets, formula peace, current issues of cooperation,” explained the Prime Minister of Ukraine.

Later, Shmygal also wrote that in Prague he met with his colleagues from Latvia – Evika Silina, Denmark – Mette Frederiksen, the Netherlands – Mark Rutte, as well as Polish President Andrzej Duda. They discussed issues of providing air defense systems for Ukraine.

He emphasized that we need at least 7 Patriot systems and modern combat systems as quickly as possible aviation. We expect to receive the first F-16 aircraft this summer,” the head of the Ukrainian government emphasized.

The Ukrainian Prime Minister also emphasized that our state is interested with our partners in creating joint ventures, transferring technology, building new enterprises and financing Ukrainian production.< /p>

Separately, Shmygal thanked the European Union for the creation of the Ukraine Assistance Fund within the European Peace Facility. Politicians also discussed the first Global Peace Summit, which will be held in Switzerland on June 15 and 16.

Ukraine should receive 500 thousand by the end of the year shells

Prime Minister of Denmark Mette Frederiksen, as reported by Radio Liberty journalists, reported that as part of the Czech initiative to supply Ukraine with ammunition from countries outside the EU, partner countries plan to by the end of 2024 to send half a million shells.

“Providing ammunition and air defense systems remain the most important priorities for all of us, and for Ukraine… This will help change the situation at the front,” – emphasized the head of the Danish government.

Frederiksen also noted that partner countries will continue to support our state for as long as necessary.
