Official delegations from Chisinau and unrecognized Transnistria met in Varnitsa on 28 April. Negotiations will be held against the backdrop of the latest provocations.

The Moldovan delegation was represented by Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration Oleg Serebrian and presidential adviser Dorin Recean. The leader of Pridnestrovie, Vadim Krasnoselsky, also arrived.

The first negotiations of such a level for Sandu

Journalists emphasize that this is the first meeting of such a level since the beginning of Maia Sandu's presidential term. The level of representation of the Moldovan delegation is quite serious.

What preceded this

  • Several explosions thundered in Pridnestrovie. On April 25, in the building of the Ministry of State Security in Tiraspol, and on April 26, two antennas broadcasting Russian TV channels were destroyed near the village of Mayak.
  • Then the Russians put their units in the region on full alert.
  • < li> After the provocations, the President of Moldova, Maia Sandu, urgently convened the Security Council. She stated that the country does not have a combat-ready army, therefore, in the event of an invasion from Transnistria, it will not have the necessary means for defense.

  • Israel and other countries urge their citizens to leave Transnistria as soon as possible.

Recall that Transnistria is officially a zone of Russian occupation. This decision was taken by the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe.
