The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine is preparing a decision that awaits society and the Ukrainian military in particular.
President Vladimir Zelensky stated this during an evening address following the results of September 14.

— For the first time today, our state celebrated Tank Day. Previously, there was a Soviet date for the professional day of tank forces. And now there is not just a motive to give a Ukrainian meaning to all such days, not just the desire of our people, but also that specific result of Ukrainian soldiers, which is worth celebrating at the level of the entire state, — he emphasized.
The head of state announced that today he awarded tank soldiers with state awards: soldiers, sergeants, officers. The Order of Bohdan Khmelnytsky, the Order of Courage, and the Medal for Military Service to Ukraine were awarded.
— Two warriors — Sergeant Vladislav Simak and Senior Sergeant Oleg Palamarchuk — received the Military Merit Cross for their courage and performance. I thank you guys! Thanks to all Ukrainian tankers! And it is very important that our tank forces are constantly progressing — More and more advanced and modern tanks are being trained and used in battle. There will also be Abrams under Ukrainian banners — We constantly add strength to our warriors, — said the President.
Vladimir Zelensky also held a meeting with the recently appointed Minister of Defense of Ukraine Rustem Umerov, where he discussed some key topics.
— Those decisions that our entire society in general and Ukrainian soldiers in particular expect from the Ministry of Defense. The Minister will present them when all the details are worked out, — he said.
The head of state also noted the joint work of Rustem Umerov with the Verkhovna Rada Commissioner for Human Rights Dmitry Lubinets on such a new institution as the military ombudsman.
— This is really needed. It is necessary to have a powerful system of human rights protection for soldiers in the defense sector itself, — he said.
The Ukrainian leader reported that he had a meeting during the day with representatives of the Ukrainian Jewish community — rabbis from different cities of Ukraine and military personnel.
— A very warm welcome on the eve of Rosh Hashanah. It is important that all communities of Ukraine are united by the goal of protecting Ukraine and a normal life for all our people. Recognized the soldiers with state awards — Orders For Courage. I thanked representatives of religious organizations for supporting people here in Ukraine, supporting the state and the whole world — the entire Jewish community of the world — tell the truth about Russia's aggression and terror, — said the president.
Vladimir Zelensky also noted the good result in Ukraine’s cooperation with the International Criminal Court (ICC).
— A result that brings exact responsibility for Russian war crimes. A field office of the International Criminal Court has opened in Ukraine, and this is the largest representative office of the court outside The Hague. And it is very good that there is full and coordinated cooperation between the Office of the Prosecutor General, all Ukrainian law enforcement agencies and the International Criminal Court, — he said.
The President is confident that it is this kind of cooperation that helps us bring closer the moment of restoration of justice for Ukraine and all our people who suffered from this war, — the moment of legitimate and well-deserved sentences for Russian criminals.
At the end of the address, the head of state noted the activities of the Security Service of Ukraine and the Naval Forces, which destroyed the Russian S-400 (Triumph) air defense system.
— I thank you for this triumph today — The air defense system of the invaders on the land of our Crimea was destroyed. Very significant, well done, — Zelensky said.
