The Commissioner for the Protection of the State Language, Taras Kremen, explained that People's Artist Andrey Danilko (Verka Serduchka) has the right to perform songs in Russian from his repertoire.
The speech ombudsman spoke about this in an interview with the Glavkom publication.

— The language of cultural, artistic and entertainment events is the state language, but this provision does not apply to the performance or reproduction of songs. It can already be said that there were no violations when a citizen of Ukraine reproduced songs, because his actions are not prohibited by law, — noted Kremen.
At the same time, the ombudsman noted that there may be questions for the concert organizers regarding the language in which the song titles were announced, reference information was provided, tickets and posters were issued.
“Andrey Danilko is under sanctions in Russia, and, as far as I know, he is helping our Armed Forces,” Kremne said.
Let us recall that earlier a video from Verka Serduchka's concert on June 13, where Russian-language songs were performed, was distributed on social networks. This caused indignation among a part of the public, who filed complaints with the language ombudsman.
Also, the artist Andrey Danilko, who performs in the image of Verka Serduchka, said that he will not translate his Russian-language hits. He also admitted that he is working on a new Ukrainian-language repertoire.
Danilko is not going to translate Verka Serduchka's Russian-language hits, because, according to him, it turns out unsuccessfully.
