On the night and morning of March 9, Russian invaders attacked Ukraine with drones and missiles. The main blow was directed against our energy system.

Thus, the Russian invaders once again tried to destroy the Ukrainian energy system. However, they didn't succeed.

Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal said that the energy system of Ukraine remains intact. Temporary power outages are possible only in certain areas, because generation and distribution facilities in 8 regions are damaged.

The energy headquarters is working. Repair teams are working. Particular attention is paid to the return of electricity to Kharkiv,” the minister noted.

According to Shmygal, rocket attacks were also carried out against civilian infrastructure. Unfortunately, there are injured and dead among the civilian population.

“For these next crimes, the Russians must be punished. We will not forget. We will not forgive. Thank you to the air defense forces and energy workers for their work. We will stand. We will win. We will restore,” the Prime Minister added.

Massive attack of Ukraine on March 9: what is known

  • The Russian occupiers carried out 81 launches of missiles of various bases. Air defense forces of 48 Kh-101 / Kh-555 and Caliber cruise missiles destroyed 34 cruise missiles, as well as 4 kamikaze drones.
  • The enemy attacked the Dnieper, Pavlograd, Krivoy Rog and Nikopol regions of the Dnepropetrovsk region. One person died, two were injured.
  • In the Goloseevsky district of Kyiv, there is a hit in an infrastructure facility. In the Svyatoshinsky district, 2 people were hospitalized.
  • As a result of a morning rocket attack in the capital, an energy infrastructure facility was damaged. There are interruptions in heat supply, some of the people of Kiev are left without heating.
  • President Volodymyr Zelensky held an emergency meeting on Ukraine's massive rocket attack on March 9.
  • The Ukrainian leader also expressed his condolences to the families of the victims of the missile attack. Zelensky released footage of the consequences of the arrivals.
