Czech-Ukrainian Defense Agreements and Last Day of Data Update: Top Stories for July 16

Data update by military personnel

July 16 The deadline for updating the data of men aged 18 to 60 expires, according to the new mobilization law. If this obligation is neglected, — Those liable for military service face a fine of 17,000 to 25,500 UAH.

At the same time, as noted by Lieutenant Colonel of Justice, representative of the Central Legal Directorate of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Irina Garbuz, fines will not be issued automatically, because, according to the Code of Ukraine on Administrative Offenses, the imposition of a fine is provided for within three months from the date of discovery of the offense, but no more than a year from the date of commission of such an offense.

The representative of the General Staff noted that there can only be one fine for one offense.

At the same time, the Ministry of Defense warns that Ukrainians abroad who have not updated the data in the TCC will be fined.

— There cannot be any selection here. It's still administrative responsibility. It will just be a little more difficult for the state to implement this. Considering that people were forced to leave their state, explained Deputy Minister of Defense Ekaterina Chernogorenko.

Data can be updated in the TCC, TsNAP, as well as through the Reserve+ mobile application.

In particular, they are not going to continue the period for updating data, since, according to the director of the personnel policy department of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine Mark Andrusyak, 60 days is enough time to update military registration data.

Agreements between the Czech Republic and Ukraine on defense

Today, July 16, Prime Minister Denis Shmygal arrived on an official visit to Prague to meet with his colleague Petr Fiala.

On this day, Ukraine concluded a number of important agreements and memorandums with the Czech Republic, including in the field of defense. Thus, according to written agreements, a new cartridge plant will be built in Ukraine. The corresponding document was signed between Sellier & Bellot and Ukroboronservis.

Another agreement provides for the production of Colt CZ Group assault rifles in Ukraine.

— There are good prospects and we hope for joint projects for the production of ammunition in the Czech Republic or in safe places in Ukraine. And also for general repairs of MI type helicopters in the Czech Republic, — Prime Minister Denis Shmygal noted.

In addition an agreement was signed between the countries, according to which by the end of 2024, 1.7 thousand Ukrainian military personnel will undergo military exercises in the Czech Republic under the leadership of professional instructors.

Zelensky made a Bet

The main topic of the Supreme Commander Headquarters, which was held by President Vladimir Zelensky on July 16, was the recruitment of brigades for rotation.

– We devoted a lot of time to the topic of assembling brigades for rotation in the most difficult areas: people, weapons, military equipment, proper logistics. Chief of the General Staff Anatoly Bargilevich reported, said the head of state.

The second main topic of discussion during the Headquarters was weapons. In particular, we were talking about the entire list of our own production – shells, drones, equipment, as well as supplies from partners.

Rada decisions

On July 16, the Verkhovna Rada adopted bill No. 4201 on the abolition of the transition from winter to summer time.

—That is, this year we will switch to winter time on the last Sunday (27th) of October, and there will be no further switch to summer time from 2025 onwards,” the people’s deputy explained. Voices Yaroslav Zheleznyak.

In addition, The Rada abolished import duties and VAT on energy and mine action equipment.

The documents contain amendments regarding exemption from duties and VAT for the import of energy equipment to Ukraine, noted Yaroslav Zheleznyak. This applies to:

  • electric generating equipment;
  • equipment for wind and solar generation;
  • batteries (except low-power batteries),
  • equipment for mine action;
  • equipment for the production of means to counter technical intelligence.

Salmonellosis in Kyiv

An outbreak of salmonellosis was recorded in the capital's private children's garden . This disease was detected in three employees of a preschool institution.

An epidemiological investigation is underway jointly with the Kyiv City Center for Disease Control and Prevention. In particular, sampling of drinking water, sanitary and hygienic washouts from environmental objects and bacteriological examination of personnel for carriage of intestinal infections were carried out.
