State Duma deputy Mikhail Delyagin said that for most Russians, having a child is a ticket to poverty and destitution. They say that it is the low standard of living that is the problem of the demographic situation in the aggressor country, and not the consequences of the SVO.

Opposition journalist, editor of The Insider Timur Olevsky explained to Channel 24 that there is no extremism in Delyagin’s words. In his opinion, this is all part of the government’s task of increasing maternity capital in order to improve the birth rate accordingly.

“Apparently, now the State Duma is discussing a way to finance this entire program for the immediate reproduction of Russians, faced with the horror of a demographic hole,” Olevsky explained.

You can find money for maternity capital, but your standard of living will not change. As you know, rubles are depreciating at a rapid rate.

Putin is preparing for elections

There will be presidential elections in Russia in March, but Vladimir Putin has yet to announce he is running. He will likely announce his participation during the live event in December.

In addition to “victories” at the front, it is important for the Russian president to demonstrate his effectiveness in the country’s internal political life. Increasing maternity capital may be one of his steps.

“And Putin will say: “Of course, we thought about it. Here’s 200 thousand of maternity capital.” And then these 200 thousand will depreciate,” Olevsky suggested.

The situation in Russia: latest news

  • Since the beginning of November, the ruble has risen in price by 4% against the dollar. This is due to economic manipulations before the presidential elections in Russia. In August, the currency was one of the weakest in the world.
  • Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council Alexey Danilov considers the future of Russia “foggy.” To preserve world order, it is necessary to divide the aggressor country into several parts in a controlled manner.
  • By the way, the Russian population is losing confidence in its army. At the beginning of the full-scale invasion of Ukraine, 80% of Russians trusted their military, and already in the summer – 75%.
