“Culture must not stop”: Rivne will be turned into a powerful cultural center with the support of the EU

In Rivne, despite the war, they want to actively develop culture and creative space for children. This was made possible with the support of the EU4Culture program.

The Center for Street Cultures in Rivne wants to create the largest center for children's groups in the city. This will help the kids to develop, and parents to save time and energy, because all the circles will be concentrated in one place.

As you know, the Center for Street Cultures in Rivne is Victoria Martynyuk. The woman could not stand aside when the strategy for the development of culture was first created in the city. She emphasized that even earlier she had been thinking about organizing the largest center for children's circles in the city.

We want to present to the residents of Rovno a complex of circles in one place. So that it was such a group of an extended day of a creative persuasion. And parents get what they do not drive around the city in the evening, make schedules and everything else. The whole complex is in one place and it will be easier for them to plan their time, – explained the head of the Center for Street Cultures.

Other projects will be developed in the city

Last autumn, Rivne, as well as Poltava and Vinnitsa became winners of the EU4Culture program. So, Rivne is already received 30 thousand euros for the development of a cultural strategy . And there will also be another grant of 100,000 euros for its introduction. True, the war intervened in such a good start, but this did not stop the caring people of Rivne.

The manager of the Rivne Culture Development Strategy project, Elena Khmelnyk, noted that there was a period of uncertainty, but the project members, together with donors, decided to move on .

Culture must not stop, culture must live. And we managed to unite people, players of culture, working in the cultural environment of the city, – Elena Khmelnyk admitted.

So Rivne determined the main directions of its cultural development. And one of them is the renewal of already known locations.

A city park can become a summer amphitheater

In particular, when an abandoned city park now has every chance of becoming more than just a place for citizens to relax. And also a considerable creative center with a unique amphitheater.

Natalya Lozovskaya, Head of the Department of Culture and Tourism of Rivne, said that she plans to change this place to a powerful creative space, a summer amphitheater for creative teams.

Ostvitsa is a new business card of Rivne

And the cradle of the city – Ostvitsa – has every chance of becoming a new hallmark of Rivne. This place has a rich history, because earlier archaeologists discovered a thousand-year-old ancient settlement there. Today, the founders of the Ostvitsa Historical Reconstruction Club are trying to show people how the first settlers of Rivne lived in this place.

“We create houses, crafts, conduct various master classes, excursions, boat trips. It is the black one, which has been the highlight of our park for a thousand years,” Olga Postnikova, project manager of the Ostvitsa Historical Reconstruction Club, said. the park until recently was a solid bush. But thanks to Olga and Yuri and their like-minded people, now residents come here to learn their own history. The tower at the entrance to the park, houses, boats – everything that is there, the reenactors create with their own hands. These are copies of old buildings and objects.

These places are only part of the cultural strategy of Rivne. The first practical steps to implement the project should begin in November. The EU4Culture support and development program for culture and the creative sector is funded by the European Union. Let us add that the implementation of the cultural strategy Vinnytsia and Poltava will also receive grants of 100 thousand euros from EU4Culture.
