Seversky Donets is important for the occupiers

It should be understood that the 90-kilometer central section of the front line in Donbas is important for the invaders. We are talking about the territory that lies to the west of the Seversky Donets River. So the Russians will either have to carry out ambitious flanking actions or storm the river crossings. Otherwise, they will not be able to achieve their goals.
Recall that the Russian military command is striving to reach the administrative borders of the Luhansk and Donetsk regions.

Therefore, the Armed Forces of Ukraine had to move away from the city center. At the same time, it should be understood that the situation is not easy and changes almost every hour.
At the same time, the invaders are doing everything possible to cut off Severodonetsk. To do this, they have already destroyed the second bridge. At the present time, Sergey Gaidai emphasizes, the shelling of the third and last crossing does not stop.
And if it is destroyed, then it will be impossible to take people out of Severodonetsk. In addition, the opportunity to bring in the military to strengthen our positions will be gone. Note that the third bridge is already in disrepair. It is so old that even trucks cannot move with it.
Valery Zaluzhny noted that the invaders transferred up to seven BTGs to Severodonetsk. They did this in order to hasten the capture of the city. The Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine stressed that the invaders have ten times more heavy weapons. At the same time, our military defend their positions courageously and give a worthy rebuff to the enemy.
