According to local police, on April 20, at about 02:00, in the Gaysinsky district of the Vinnytsia region, police stopped a dark-colored car with two men in it for inspection.
They opened fire on law enforcement officers. A 20-year-old policeman died from his injuries, and his partner was wounded.

The Vinnytsia Specialized Prosecutor's Office for the Defense of the Southern Region opened proceedings on the fact of an attempt on the life of a law enforcement officer (Article 348 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
Physical evidence was seized at the crime scene, urgent investigative actions are being carried out.
The involvement of two servicemen in the crime is also being verified.
Some media spread the information that this is supposedly a father and son from the 28th mechanized brigade,, but the Ukrainian Armed Forces denied this.
They say that the suspects in the crime have not been associated with this brigade for more than a year.
The Ground Forces of the Ukrainian Armed Forces confirmed that those in the released video are indeed servicemen from one of the military units.

Maxim has been studying at the National Academy of Internal Affairs since 2021 and devotedly served in the Patrol Police response sector for 1.5 years.
