Deputy head of the Russian Security Council Dmitry Medvedev made another cynical statement about the temporarily occupied Crimea. However, Ukraine's reaction was no less sharp and resolute.

Russia's ex-leader Dmitry Medvedev stressed in one of his statements that Ukraine would allegedly be much more dangerous in NATO. He expressed the corresponding opinion, comparing our state in the Alliance and Sweden and Finland, which have already submitted applications.

Let's remind that our state really aspires to join NATO. Moreover, it is enshrined in the Constitution of Ukraine. But now there is no talk of the possibility of becoming part of the Alliance. Therefore, we are neither candidates nor NATO members.
Ukraine's response
According to Danilov, Crimea can be Russian only in the sick imagination of Russians.
“Crimea is yours” can only be in the sick anti-Semitic, Ukrainian-phobic imagination of certain Kremlin figures, and there will be no attempt. The return of the temporarily occupied territory of Crimea will be carried out immediately without any attempts, – the Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council emphasized.
Earlier, the head of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, stressed that she would not bet on Russia's victory. She noticed that the fighters of the “second army of the world” did not know what they were fighting for. And that is why they cannot boast of outstanding achievements at the front. But the Ukrainians defend their land and will fight to the last.
How Ukraine will return Crimea and Donbas
Ukrainian Defense Minister Oleksiy Reznikov is convinced that weapons from NATO countries, including the United States, will help Ukraine return the territories occupied by Russia – Crimea and Donbas. He stressed that this will not happen as quickly as we would like – at the third stage of the liberation of Ukrainian territories.
Ukraine already has a plan for winning this war: stages
- According to Reznikov, the first step will be to stabilize the situation on the ground in order to prevent further losses of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
- The second stage is necessary in order to push Russian troops back to their positions before the February 24 invasion.
- Dismissal Crimea will be discussed only in the third stage, and Western allies will be involved in this process.
The Ukrainian authorities have repeatedly stated that the Armed Forces of Ukraine will not use weapons to attack Russia, but Crimea is the territory of Ukraine. The United States also agrees with this.
