– Crimea is Ukraine. Period, – the Foreign Ministry noted.
They also added that Crimea is the center of gravity of the European security architecture. And its full restoration is possible only after the complete deoccupation of the entire territory of Ukraine, including the temporarily occupied Ukrainian peninsula.
The department emphasized that in the future they expect decisive support from partners in order to force the aggressor country to return to respect for international law and the UN Charter, withdraw its troops and weapons from the entire territory of Ukraine and restore its territorial integrity.
And also to hold Russia accountable for all crimes committed against Ukraine and its citizens.
The Ukrainian Foreign Ministry noted that it is necessary to direct all efforts to achieving the above goals, and not to satisfy the Kremlin's appetites at the expense of the interests of Ukraine and international law
What Sikorsky said about Crimea
Recently, the head of the Polish diplomatic department Radoslaw Sikorski stated that Crimea is supposedly of key importance if the terms of peace between Ukraine and the Russian Federation are to be discussed.
At the same time, Sikorski proposed transferring Crimea under a UN mandate with a mission to prepare a fair referendum after checking who the legal residents are, and then postponing this issue for 20 years.
