Crimea is a key weapon of aggression: why Ukraine will not be safe without its liberation

by alex

The Russian occupiers have long made a large-scale “military base” out of the Crimean peninsula. Without its de-occupation, Ukraine will not be safe.

Boris Babin, permanent representative of the President of Ukraine in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea (in 2017-2018), told Channel 24 about this. According to him, the military presence of the invaders on the peninsula has been quite large for several years. This has been repeatedly reflected in expert reports and international documents.

Crimea is a key logistics hub of the occupiers in the South

As Babin noted, the Crimean peninsula is one of the main springboards for Russian aggression in the mainland South. The occupiers turned it into a large-scale “military base”. The wounded are being treated there, the mobilized are being brought in, equipment is being repaired. All these formations on the peninsula must be demilitarized.

Aggression from Crimea is taking place in the air, at sea, and in cyberspace. Here we can say that without the complete demilitarization of the occupation structures and in general without the de-occupation of Crimea, it is impossible to ensure the security of either Ukraine or the whole world. After all, those criminal plans that they wanted to implement in Crimea go far beyond the borders of Ukraine. Babin noted.

He stressed that today there are no organizational or legal factors that would prevent Ukraine from de-occupying Crimea in the way chosen by the Armed Forces. Before a full-scale war, the partners insisted on a politico-diplomatic solution to the conflict. But now everything is completely different: Russia attacked on a full scale, and the world has changed.

Ukraine will definitely liberate Crimea from invaders

  • On February 26, Ukraine celebrated the Day of Resistance to the Occupation of Crimea and Sevastopol. The state remembers for its citizens on the peninsula and will definitely expel the Russian invaders from there.
  • President Volodymyr Zelensky stressed that citizens should know that Ukraine will not leave anyone. The Crimean peninsula will definitely be freed from Russian captivity. This will become a historical point in any attempts by Russia to break the life not only of Ukrainians, but also of other peoples of Europe and Asia.
  • In addition, the representative of the operational command “South” Natalia Gumenyuk noted that the enemy has increased the number of personnel in the Crimea. They brought there “extras”, which should build fortifications.
