Zelensky told the Danes about Russia's crimes in Mariupol
The head of state noted that Mariupol has been under siege by the Russians for more than 3 weeks. Many people managed to escape from aggression. However, about 100 thousand people still remain in the city.
The politician told the Danes that the local population melted snow to get water. Since the beginning of the occupation of Mariupol, it has not been possible to deliver humanitarian aid there.
The delivery of water, food, medicines is blocked by the Russian military,” Zelensky explained.
He also noted that about 90% of the city’s buildings were completely destroyed by shelling and bombs. The Russian aviation strikes non-stop. They deliberately undermine shelters in which people are hiding.
The world is watching Russia's crimes live
What Russian troops are doing with Mariupol is a crime against humanity, committed literally live in front of the entire planet,” Zelensky noted.
He asked why this became possible, and the world cannot stop this stream of Russian war crimes, which has not dried up since 24 February. “The answer is simple and cynical – people who make decisions in Russia hope that they will get away with it,” the head of state said.
At the same time, the Danes believe that they manage to circumvent the embargo on Russian oil. In general, the international community continues to express its concern, but at the same time, concrete action is needed.
